Valley CM provided construction management services for multiple steel reservoir recoating projects.   Extensive corrosion was discovered in the tanks after draining them that required significant structural repair.  The center column support was found to be severely rusted and a “halo” ring support was constructed.  Additionally, new ladders, inlet piping modifications, tank level indicator and minor structural repairs were made.  Valley CM supervised the NACE Level 3 inspector hired by the owner to inspected the coating removal, surface preparation and recoating work.   VOC test results, while under the allowable DHS limits, exceed the District’s policy limits on several tanks.  Valley CM obtained and installed an aeration system that reduced the level of VOC’s in the new tank to below District policy limits.
